Introduction

  • Overview of the Safety Management Regulations Project
    • Establishing and implementing traffic safety management regulations for each transportation provider in order to prevent accidents by advancing its safety management system
  • Implementation
    • Details of the safety management regulations: General provisions, internal organization managing traffic safety, response to accidents including investigation of causes
    • Appropriateness review of including the feasibility and validity of safety management regulations while checking and evaluating whether the provider is implementing and complying with the regulations
    • Subject: A transportation provider operating more than 20 commercial vehicles such as bus, taxi, and truck
  • Procedure for appropriateness review as well as checking and evaluating whether the provider is implementing and complying with the regulations
    • Preparation and submission of safety management regulations (Transportation provider → TS)
    • Notification of appropriateness review results (TS → Transportation provider and traffic administration organization)
      • Results: Appropriate, Conditionally inappropriate, Inappropriate
    • Implementation of the safety management regulations is checked every 5 years following a vehicle safety check (TS)
      • A fine is imposed in case of failure to submit the regulations or implement the order to change the regulations (traffic administration organization)
